Support the High Holy Days Food Drive

Several years ago when my wife Sibylle became the Social Action chair of Adat Chaverim one of the first things she did, was to extend the annual food drive to include the backpack program championed by Mayor Harry.
@PlanoMayorHarry – thank you !

Plano, such a wealthy North Texas Community actually has a large number of kids who leave school on Friday afternoon not knowing whether they will have breakfast, lunch or dinner for the next two days. The Plano backpack program provides these children with healthy snacks over the weekend.

While we still collect food and toiletry items for JFS, a partner of the North Texas Food Bank, we are supporting the backpack program as well by collecting peanut butter.

Peanut butter – if you are an athlete you know it’s one of the “super foods”. Peanut butter will put a smile on the faces of many food insecure children.

Let’s keep that smile on their faces!

Sibylle and I will not be present this year during the High Holy Days, we are vacationing in Europe. However our share of peanut butter has been dropped off.

This is a cause very close to our hearts; it takes very little in life to fall into poverty.

All of us should realize how lucky we are and that the things we take for granted might be unreachable to others.

#AdatChaverimCares – we do care, we all do care.

Last year all together we reached over 1000 Pounds  of peanut butter – this year, we challenge you to beat that number.
